Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of FreeScan.app, including free website audits, public reports, accounts, and FreeScan Pro (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use FreeScan for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

FreeScan performs automated checks on publicly reachable webpages and returns informational scores, findings, and suggested fixes across areas such as SEO, AEO, GEO, security signals, accessibility, and design.

A free scan covers a public URL and may create a publicly accessible, searchable report. FreeScan Pro currently provides private account-based reports across as many as five monitored websites, an initial representative baseline of up to 60 public pages, recurring representative scans of up to 25 public pages, scan history, up to five manually requested scans per website within any rolling seven-day period, one manually requested comprehensive rebaseline per website within any rolling 30-day period, automatic weekly scans, emailed report summaries, and subscription management.

The Service does not access login-protected pages, perform penetration testing, exploit vulnerabilities, certify legal or regulatory compliance, guarantee search rankings, or replace professional security, accessibility, legal, or design review.

• You must provide accurate account information and keep access to your account secure.
• You are responsible for activity performed through your account and should notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access.
• You must be at least 13 to use the Service. To purchase FreeScan Pro, you must be at least 18 or otherwise able to enter a binding contract.
• We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for the Service or others.

You may submit only public webpages that you are legally permitted to request and analyze. For a Pro monitored domain, you must own the domain or have authorization from its owner to configure recurring scans. FreeScan may rely on your attestation and may request additional evidence when abuse, a dispute, or unusual activity is detected.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of scan results, public-page content, and reports respects applicable law and third-party rights. A website being publicly accessible does not grant you ownership of its content.

You may not use the Service to:

• Scan systems without authorization, bypass access controls, or target private, local, or reserved network resources.
• Attempt exploitation, credential testing, denial-of-service activity, malware delivery, scraping outside the Service's intended audit function, or any unlawful surveillance.
• Interfere with FreeScan, evade limits or abuse controls, automate excessive requests, reverse engineer protected portions of the Service, or use the Service to build a competing dataset or product.
• Submit unlawful, infringing, deceptive, confidential, or malicious material.
• Misrepresent an automated audit as a certification, guarantee, professional opinion, or comprehensive security assessment.

FreeScan Pro costs $19 USD per month unless a different price or promotion is clearly shown at checkout. A third-party payment provider processes payment. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your selected payment method at the start of each billing period until cancellation.

You can manage or cancel the subscription through the billing portal in Pro settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid billing period unless checkout or applicable law states otherwise. Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated at purchase. Taxes may be added where required.

We may change future pricing or plan limits with reasonable notice. Any change will apply no earlier than a future billing period and will not alter charges already paid.

You retain any rights you have in URLs, settings, feedback, or other material you submit. You grant FreeScan a limited license to host, copy, fetch, analyze, process, and display that material as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service. This includes publicly displaying reports produced through the free audit flow.

FreeScan and its licensors retain all rights in the Service, software, branding, audit methodology, report presentation, and original content. Subject to these Terms, you may use and share your reports for lawful internal or commercial purposes, but you may not remove ownership notices or falsely claim that FreeScan certifies a website.

If you believe a public report or other material infringes your rights or should be reviewed, contact us with the URL and enough information to evaluate the request.

We may add, change, limit, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain security, performance, legality, or product quality. Scans can fail or produce incomplete results because of website configuration, rate limits, robots directives, network conditions, third-party outages, or changes to the analyzed page. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or permanent storage of any report, so you should retain copies you need.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and all reports are provided "as is" and "as available." FreeScan disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability. Automated findings can contain false positives, false negatives, or outdated information. You are responsible for reviewing recommendations, testing changes, and making your own decisions before acting on a report.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FreeScan and its owner, affiliates, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, security, rankings, or business opportunities arising from the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FreeScan's aggregate liability for all claims arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of $100 USD or the amount you paid FreeScan during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify FreeScan and its owner from third-party claims arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another person's rights.

You may stop using FreeScan at any time and may cancel Pro through the billing portal. We may suspend or terminate access for a material or repeated violation, legal requirement, security risk, nonpayment, or conduct that could harm FreeScan or others. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity—will survive.

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about the Service and supersede prior discussions about it. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We may update these Terms by posting a revised version and updating the date above. Material changes may also be communicated through the Service or by email. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
